The Next Level

So, in line with my recent post, as parents we often get to answer strange questions… like what does “don’t let the door hit you on the way out mean daddy?”

Or, what does “time flies mean daddy?”

Haha.

These phrases are hard to explain to children.

And this got me to thinking.

We toss this notion of “next level” around quite a bit.

Along with “living the dream” – I get this one a lot.  While living in Central America, I would be talking to someone on the phone (possibly from the beach) and they would inevitably tell me “geez – you are living the dream!”

Now – for some that is a dream, for others it is a total nightmare (yes, there are people who do not enjoy heat, do not enjoy humidity and/or do not enjoy bugs and snakes).  For these people, I am living their hell!

Now.  Back to my point, if I had a point, ever.

We talk about “next level”

Take life to the next level.

Take our experience to the next level.

Take our business to the next level.

I don’t even know what that means exactly – I could not possibly explain it to my children.  Other than possibly to say “better than it is now” but I don’t believe that this is the point of next level.

But I am just guessing.

What’s your next level?

Or is that the next level in the game of life?
